Dwarf broad bean plants from the garden, just before we ate them with feta. Not sure if the lighting needs to be quite so dramatic for such a prosaic subject…

Left the dogs alone for a couple of hours during the week with a webcam on to see how the foster dog is getting on. Came back to find a box of 240 teabags had mysteriously appeared in the lounge. Evidence below.

July 1st, 2009I don’t know why this one caught my eye… it’s not even in focus, as you’d be able to see if the image were any bigger. But there’s something about the light.
A couple from the weekend
June 29th, 2009I don’t often do the Flower Macro Thing, but I wanted to play with some off-camera flash this weekend. This is one of the foxgloves that’s seemingly grown from the flagstones outside the back door, nuked with one strobe from above through a diy mini softbox. I quite like the abrupt flash falloff toward the bottom, even though I would normally try to avoid it.
And a fungal specimen from the garden..not sure if this is a sign of a healthy lawn or not. Setup as before, but lit from below to show the gills.
