Trees and bluebells

Friday, May 29th, 2009

A group of evergreen trees standing in a field, with bluebells in the foreground – the view from our tent on a recent camping trip. I waited until the light was low and the skies were blue to photograph them. Click on the image to see this print in my Etsy shop.

Sunny tree

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Taken at Loch Morar on the West coast of Scotland. The sun was so bright that day, I didn’t get many good pictures – most were too contrasty. But for this shot of a solitary tree, the harsh shadows worked in black and white. Click on the image to see the print in my Etsy shop.

After sunset

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

This photo was taken just after the sun had set over the sea, taken near Arisaig on the West coast of Scotland.  I like the wider formats a lot… I might be tempted to try making a big print of this one using roll paper – I should be able to make a 16 x 8 on my A4 printer!  Click on the image to go to my Etsy shop.

Golden field

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

I took this near the end of a long walk with a big group of dogs. We were following a path through a field of dried yellow grass. It had been cloudy all day, but finally the sun came out, and the contrast between the golden, shimmering field and the black coats of the dogs inspired me to take the shot.
